Modelling the Sink

The images below are images that I found of American sinks in the 1950s and used these as references for my sink in my scene.

To model the sink, I started off with a simple box (which would be the counter). I then added lines where the sink and draining board will go and used the bevel too to bevel it inwards as well as extruding it down. Then I highlighted to polygon where the sink will go and I bevelled that down wards and inwards.

To get the indents on the drying board, I simply added lines going across and bevelled every other one and added turbosmooth.

To create the tap, I used a cylinder and extruded and rotated the faces to get the curve.

To create the tap handle, I used a cylinder for the base and then for the handle started off with a sphere and squashed it by scaling it. I then created a cylinder and attached it to the sphere and welded the vertices together and scaled the joint inwards to create the thin part at the joint.
