The images below are the Images I found of interior doors in the 1950s which I used as reference.

For the door frame, I used the skirting I used for the floor skirting. For the door, I started off with the pivot door an used the bevel options in the modify panel to create the pattern in the door then turned it into an editable poly.

ree

The knobs were created from a cylinder that has been bevelled and extruded. To create the clip, create circles in typology (I used the regulizer script which created the circles for me) then extrude the 2 circles where the screws will go inwards.

ree

Clean up all the typology then use the line tool to create the shape as seen below and extrude it then Boolean it with the clip base.

ree

Then clean connect the vertices of the Boolean part to the other vertices on the mesh.

ree

Then inset the part of the clip and small amount to get the gap between the clip and the clip base then extrude it and round the top off by moving the vertices as seen in the image below.

ree

These images are the references I used for the exterior doors on my house.

The exterior door was made from a box then the windows were made by adding lines and chamfering the vertices then bridging the polygons together as seen in the image below.

ree

The base of the door knob was made from 2 circles and 2 lines which I changed the edge amount to 4. I also welded the vertices at the end of the lines to make the point.

ree

The knob was made using a cylinder which I bevelled and extruded.
