Making the Glass

To put something on my coffee table in the living room I used this reference to model this glass.

The first thing to do is to start of with a normal cylinder with 21 edges and add a segment going around it and highlight every other 2 vertices and drag them up as seen in image 1 below. Next, highlight 3 polygons under the segment then bevel them inwards to get the result in image 1 and then do the same to the next 3 and so on. If all the polygons were highlighted and bevelled, then they would all bevel together and it wouldn't create the edge which is sticking out. After that, go to the top polygon and use the extrude/bevel tool to create the inside of the glass as seen in image two. From there, add a turbosmooth and some extra edges to stop around the top to stop it from being completely rounded.
